The Officer of Administration Council (OAC) actively advocates for its 1,500 OA members focusing on equity, inclusion, engagement, and professional development. Advocacy 

  • Salary Increases: As a non-represented employee group of almost 1,500 Officers of Administration, the OAC is active in advocacy and dialog with UO leadership to represent the best outcomes for OAs.  
  • The Ombuds Program: The University of Oregon Ombuds Program provides confidential, impartial, independent, and informal conflict management assistance to the University of Oregon community at no charge.  The Ombuds Program provides customizable workshops for campus conferences, team meetings, department retreats, or other university events.  The Program provides non-identifying feedback to university leadership on trends and concerns in the community.

Employee Resources

  • Paid Leave Oregon: a State of Oregon mandated program that ensures individuals, employers, and families have the time and support they need to care for themselves and their loved ones when life’s important moments affect their health and safety. The University of Oregon will contract with a third-party administrator to establish a plan; contributions and benefits begin in September of 2023.
  • Care.com premium membership: The UO provides employees a premium membership as an additional resource to meet caregiving needs. The online platform helps you connect with caregivers in your area by searching the caregivers network or posting a caregiver job and screening applicants.
  • Employee Engagement Guide: Information and strategies about the benefits and importance of employee engagement, impacting employment experience, individual effort and actions, and overall sense of belonging.
  • Learning Challenges: The Monthly Learning Challenge is a self-paced professional development opportunity from Learning and Development at the University of Oregon.
  • LTD Bus Pass: UO Employees and Students have access to a free bus pass.

Equity & Inclusion 

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Learnings: resources and learning opportunities available to members of the UO community around diversity, equity, and inclusion topics. 
  • DEI Strategies and Working Groups: autonomous organizations of faculty, staff, and students from Native, Black, Latino, Asian, Desi and Pacific Islander, and white communities, respectively, that are open to people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Search Advocacy Program: Search Advocacy is one active recruitment tool that can be used in both faculty and staff searches. A Search Advocate is a consultant/participant who advances inclusive excellence by asking questions to help search committee members.

  • LinkedIn Learning for UO Community: LinkedIn Learning offers personalized learning recommendations based on experience and individual utilization. 
  • Supervisor Toolkit: most commonly used forms, templates, and resources used by supervisors 
  • UO Leadership Academy:  The academy’s curriculum is designed to create an engaged learning environment, and uses evidence-based scholarship and best practices in transformational leadership. 
  • Search Advocate Program: The search advocate program affirms UO’s commitment to inclusive excellence.   
  • Creating & Maintaining Effective Position Descriptions: The position description is the primary document of personnel administration for the University. Position descriptions are important tools for supporting internal programs, such as performance management, training and professional development, recruitment, and compensation and classification, as well as for compliance. 
  • Wellness: The Duck Nest helps you develop self-care and life-balance strategies related to stress, food security, physical health and general wellness.
