The 2019 Winter Open meeting is this Wednesday, February 20, in the Ford Alumni Center Giustina Ball Room, from 2:00pm – 3:30pm. The meeting is a great opportunity to catch up with your current OA council members as we discuss our progress on strategic goals and initiatives for this year.
President Michael Schill and Learning and Development Manager Jill O’Dea will also be presenting on topics pertaining to Officers of Administration and the current climate at the University of Oregon. Additionally, we will be making presenting awards to this year’s OA Star Winners!
Light refreshments will be available, we hope to see you there.
The 2018 Annual OA Open meeting is this November 8th in the Performance Hall of the Living Learning Center from 3:30pm – 5:00pm. The meeting is a great opportunity to meet your current OA council members as we discuss our strategic goals and initiatives for the upcoming year. Below is an outline of what you can expect from this year’s annual meeting;
President Michael Schill and CFO Jamie Moffit will also be presenting on topics pertaining to Officers of Administration and the current climate at the University of Oregon. Light refreshments will be available, we hope to see you there.
The Officers of Administration Council and Human Resources are offering an opportunity for OAs to enhance their leadership and management skills, to identify solutions for issues impacting higher education, and to share their expertise with their colleagues.
In response to your feedback in the Workplace Climate Survey, sessions will be geared towards managing change.
Provost Banavar will provide opening remarks, followed by our keynote presenter, Matt Coleman, DEd, Executive Director of inflexion and UO Alumni. He will be speaking on leading and building trust in times of change.
We are also very excited to offer an additional keynote to kick off the second half of the day with Dean of Students for the Law School, Jennifer Espinola and Associate Director for Holden Center for Leadership and Community Engagement, Chris Esparza. They will be presenting on leadership strategies.

Erik Girvan, a UO associate law professor, will talk about implicit bias at the next Officers of Administration Council meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13. The meeting will be in the Redwood Auditorium in the Erb Memorial Union and streamed to UO Portland in Room 150 of the White Stag Block.
Girvan’s research investigates how stereotypes, attitudes and other biases might affect decisions in the legal system and related contexts, such as school discipline decisions. He empirically tests practical ways to reduce or eliminate implicit biases by working with a diverse variety of legal and other professionals.
Attendees are encouraged to RSVP for the OA Council meeting.
The next Officers of Administration Council open meeting on Tuesday, February 13 will present information on university accreditation and share the first public look at the results of the workplace climate survey conducted fall term.
Ron Bramhall, Associate Vice Provost of Academic Excellence, and Chuck Triplett, Assistant Vice President for University Initiatives and Collaborations, will present information on university accreditation and how it may impact you.
The OA Council will also share initial results from the workplace climate survey that captured the thoughts and concerns of more than 500 respondents in October-November 2017.
The meeting will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Ford Alumni Center 202 and will be livestreamed to UO Portland at the White Stag Block Room 152. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP for this event.
